T56 Reluctor Ring

T56 Speed Sensor For Truck Application 

To install the T56 into a 1987 or newer full-size truck, or into a 1989 or newer S10 Truck, the 40-tooth reluctor ring must be installed for the anti-lock brakes and speedometer to function properly.

To install a T56 behind a TBI or TPI engine in a truck with anti-lock brakes, use Stealth Conversions 40-tooth relector ring, shown in the picture above (part# T56-001). Notice that it has internal splines. Simply remove the original reluctor ring, and replace it with the 40-tooth reluctor ring. Replace the VSS from the T56 with the VSS that comes on 2WD truck with the manual transmission (VSS show on page 12-3 of the book). The VSS must be installed with a thicker o-ring (use a 1" O.D. X 0.10" cross section) to seal properly, and washers or shims must be installed between the VSS mounting tab and the transmission tail housing to space the VSS away from the reluctor ring, and to avoid cocking the VSS in the bore of the tailh oousing.
