Why You Might Need One. The Datsun water temperature sending unit must be used for the stock Datsun gauge to work properly.
Background and Use. Early Chevrolet V8’s have a 1/2" pipe thread in the cylinder heads for the temperature sending unit. Later engines have a 3/8" pipe thread in the cylinder heads for the temperature sending unit. The best way to fit the Datsun sending unit into the older Chevrolet engines is by using one of our brass adapter bushings. This will allow the Datsun temperature sending unit to be installed into the bushing using the stock Datsun nut.
