Water Temperature Sending Unit & Adapter

The Datsun water temperature sending unit must be used for the stock Datsun gauge to work properly.

Early Chevrolet V8’s have a 1/2" pipe thread in the cylinder heads for the temperature sending unit. Later engines have a 3/8" pipe thread in the cylinder heads for the temperature sending unit. The best way to fit the Datsun sending unit into the Chevrolet engines is by using one of the brass adapter bushings shown above. This will allow the Datsun temperature sending unit to be installed into the bushing using the stock Datsun nut.
